Ethan Rossetti’s journey from Fresno City College to Fresno State
Fresno City College sophomore long snapper Ethan Rossetti has always dreamed of playing for Fresno State.
Growing up, he and his family regularly attended Bulldogs games, and he often pictured himself taking the field inside Bulldog Stadium — now known as Valley Children's Stadium.
Rossetti stayed on that path during his time at Buchanan High, where he served as the Bears' long snapper. Although he performed well, it wasn't enough to land a Division I offer — his ultimate goal.
Determined to continue pursuing his dream, Rossetti enrolled at Fresno City College, quickly becoming a key contributor to the Rams' successful season. Before the year began, Rossetti and teammate Dean Scrivner attended a Fresno State specialist camp, and that's when his opportunity truly began to take shape.
"It took off from there," Rossetti recalled. "I got to meet the coaches, and they really liked me. I kept in touch with them throughout the season, and they offered me."
The Bulldogs' offer was Rossetti's first from an FBS program, and there was no hesitation —committing on the spot to play for his hometown team.
On Wednesday, he officially signed with Fresno State, making his dream a reality.
"Fresno State is the perfect place," he said. "It has a great fan base, great coaches, and it's just the perfect situation. Being a Bulldog is what I wanted to be."
Rossetti credits Rams head coach Tony Caviglia and his staff for shaping his development. He's proud of his role in helping Fresno City become one of the state's best special teams units, with the Rams leading California in punt average at 43.3 yards.
Rossetti's snapping has played a part in some of the team's highlights, including Lliam Peterson's 51-yard field goal and his 49-yarder that was the game-winner against College of the Sequoias.
"Fresno City really developed me as a player," Rossetti said. "It taught me to perfect long snapping. They've helped me get more athletic and more physical."
