Fresno City College men's basketball team drops fourth straight in close loss to Reedley
The Fresno City College men's basketball team's struggles continued after a 70-68 loss to Reedley in a Central Valley Conference game on Jan. 24.
The Rams have now lost four in a row and fall to 6-14 overall and 1-5 in the CVC.
Fresno City trailed 63-58 with 2:34 remaining as the Tigers called a timeout.
The Rams responded after the break when Malachi Barnes made a layup and Xavier Francis got a steal and scored on a putback basket, cutting Reedley's lead to 63-62 with 2 minutes left.
However, Reedley answered with a momentum-shifting 3-pointer to extend their lead to 66-62. Fresno City had further opportunities to tie the game at 66, but a key defensive play by Reedley resulted in a jump ball after a steal.
The Rams will be on the road for their next three games before returning home at 3 p.m. on Feb. 7 against Merced.
Earlier in the week, Fresno City lost to Lemoore 52-51.
