#8 Rams head into State Playoffs

The #8 seeded Fresno City College softball are heading to the State Playoffs! Following a strong 2025 regular season, the 5-time Central Valley Conference Champions are set to compete in the State Tournament this Friday at home in a Round I match up versus #9 Cosumnes River College at 2:00 PM at Fresno City College.

Fresno City finished the regular season with a 28-12 record, earning Co-Champions in the Central Valley Conference with at 13-2 record. Their journey was marked by 7 game winning streak in April and a strong battle versus #4 Yuba College that snapped the winning streak for the Rams, where the Rams won in a stretch 13 of 14 games.

Offensively, the team earned a .311 Batting average and in Conference slugged a .353 batting average. Lexi Rossotti solidified his status as a key player, leading the team with .422 Batting average and 37 Stolen bases ranking in the top 5 of the State. Oliva Moscardi led the team in home runs with 9 in the regular season and Sayler Steiner led the Rams in RBIs with 36. Fresno City College has a .965 Fielding Percentage and have stolen 118 bases in 2025 ranking in the Top 5 in the state.

The pitching staff demonstrated depth and moments of precision, posting a 2.77 Team ERA. Starting Pitcher Sara Barbosa anchored the rotation earning a 1.86 ERA in 116.2 IP, while Mia Castillo proved to be a force at the back end of the bullpen, with Addison Lee and Jorja Moreno.

Fresno City Team Strength has been in pitching, speed and timely hitting, those traits will be crucial as they enter the playoffs. The team is focused on improving their consistency at the plate and need pitching depth to advance make it to the Final 8 teams in California.

8 Rams will face #9 Cosumnes River College (CRC) in a Three Game series this week. Fresno City College matched up with CRC in February where the two teams split in Sacramento, CA.

"We're excited to be heading into the playoffs," said Head Coach Garza . "The team has worked hard all season, and we're ready for the challenge ahead. We know our opponent is a tough, but we believe in our team and our ability to compete at the highest level at the right time."

Fans are encouraged to show their support. The game will be Friday, at 2:00 PM and will be broadcasted on YouTube at Fresno City College Softball. Game two will be on Saturday at 12:00 PM and an, if necessary, will follow if needed.
