It was a good season opener for the Fresno City College softball team.
The Rams hit two home runs, highlighted by Amara Klein's three-run home run in the fifth inning that ended the game with an 8-0 victory over Bakersfield, in a nonleague game on Friday night.
Fresno City (1-0) jumped on the Renegades in the first inning on Makena Makekau's run-scoring double.
Sydney Yep helped the Rams when she hit a three-run home run in the second inning for a 5-0 lead.
Fresno City starting pitcher Sara Barbosa pitched three innings and picked up the win.
The teams will meet again on Jan. 30, this time in Bakersfield.
